Raiders Guild @ Dragonmeet, this Saturday

Old School
I'm going to be running a 3 1/2 hr 4e D&D Raiders Guild game at Dragonmeet on Saturday in the morning slot (10.30am - 2pm). Hopefully it'll be run in the afternoon too, by someone more devilishly tactical than me, so if you want an easier time of it, get there early and sign up!

EDIT :

Looks like it's the other way round, [info]badusernametag will be running the morning session and I'll do the afternoon one.

I've created a profile on the Wizards community portal, under... Sasha Bilton. If you are there, add me :)

I'm hoping that after a summer of little gaming I can get back into the swing of things very soon. I've been working on the next scenario for the D&D campaign, which I'm very excited about. It will see the fledgling heroes interacting with other Raiders Guild members and uses the city floor plan tile sets. There maybe opportunities to kill hippies. I'm also hoping that I'll be back working on Raiders Guild early next month, if promises are kept. I've now got 3 Raiders Guild adventure manuscripts, one of which is 80% laid out and the fourth maybe written by yours truly, with a lot of help from my friends.

In other news, I counted my Orc & Goblin Warhammer figures over the weekend. I've got 60 old Citadel 'Black orcs' with Halberds along with musicians, standard bearers, leaders and champions. They aren't usable as new Black Orcs, but as normal orcs with 2 handed weapons they work well. Oh and 30 wolf riders, 80 Goblin spearmen, 50 Goblin archers, 20 Orc archers and 10 spider riders. Nice.

I ran the first 4e D&D game for my/our occasional group on Saturday and so the flat was filled with 6 men for 8 hours, of which at least 6 and half hours were spent actually playing. Everyone had already made characters and as is the way of Raiders Guild adventurers the action started within the first 5 minutes. The roll call is as follows:-

Agragh : Dragonborn paladin of the Raven Queen, played by [info]dakari_mane. Soak.
Johann : Human star pact warlock : played by [info]badusernametag. Psychic/co.
Ling : Half-elf rogue : played by [info]flywingedmonkey. Crossdresser.
Mal : Human wizard : played by [info]bluekieran. Blastmaster.
Phaeron : Human cleric of Erathis : played by [info]nexus_six. Triage.

The group managed to complete Mission : Sea Crypt during the day, however I chopped out a few sections, rushed through others to playtest some encounters I've added, including a final beach scene with the Archivists again. I like the way the party have both respect and hatred for the Archivists already and I will endeavor to grow both. I don't think I managed to convey the same sense of mewing vileness I gave to the Cerotha matriarch before, but that's partly down to bad power refresh rolls.

I've not introduced any metagaming elements yet, although we did a light flashback scene were each character described what it was that got them picked for the Raiders. It's my plan to add troupe style play as we move forward, with each core character having an assistant played by another player.

Next up for Wednesday a skills based interlude involving Hobgoblins, who may make odd bed fellows with Raiders Guild but the evening will end in a battle which ever way it goes.

For your eyes only... The Skreek 4E race

Skreek
I've tinkering with Robin's skreek player race, aka the bat-folk, for Raiders Guild and I've been thinking it's time to let it loose into the wild, just a little.

So here is the alpha playtest version of the skreek. [1.9m] It's still raw, unedited and not all the images are final.

Go play with it and tell me what you think.

I've just put up a one pager about what we'd like to see if, say, you wanted to write Raiders Guild 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons adventures. Here...

WANTED: Players for 4th edition D&D

I'm looking for *anyone* interested in playing our forth coming Raiders Guild scenario Mission : Sea Crypt. No experience needed, of 4th edition or roleplaying.

The games will be weekly, take 3-4 hours an evening and hosted in north London. If we can all agree to do more then we will, but once a week is minimum. I'm guessing +/- 5 sessions will be sufficient.

You'll get play test credits, fight the horrible Certhoa, have a chance to play the frankly ninja-like skreek batfolk and experience the joy of playing on Ralf Schemmann maps with fully painted models.

Now that i've run 4th edition I can honestly say it is a joy to DM. While at GenCon I had the pleasure of dungeon mastering the first and last encounters from the adventure and once to a group of 4th ed nay-sayers, who headed over to the Wizards stall after they finished with their wallets out. 4th edition is fantastic to play, it's truly a players game.
